THE Adaptive Golfer
THE METHOD

The Five Pillars.

Every stroke you lose belongs to one of five pillars. Improvement isn't about working harder — it's about finding the pillar that's costing you the most and building it systematically. That loop — Diagnose, Practice, Measure, Adjust — is the Adaptive Loop, and it runs the whole system. The Adaptive Golfer runs the entire method for you: diagnosis, benchmarked practice drills, and an adaptive four-week plan.

What are the Five Pillars?

The Five Pillars are Ball Control, Scoring Skills, Course Strategy, Practice System, and Performance — the five areas every lost stroke maps to, as laid out in the published book. Each pillar is trained with drills from the library and measured against handicap-band benchmarks, so you always know which one is costing you the most.

01

Ball Control

The ability to produce shots that start where you intend and behave predictably. Face control is the core skill — the clubface determines most of where the ball starts, and your hands can't feel it. Feedback drills close the gap your nervous system can't.

02

Scoring Skills

Everything from 100 yards in: wedge distance control, chipping, lag putting, and short putts. Recreational golfers donate more strokes here than anywhere else — and recover more strokes per hour of practice than any other area.

03

Course Strategy

Decision-making skill. Recreational golfers lose 2–4 strokes a round on decisions alone — aiming at flags their dispersion can't support and attempting hero recoveries with bad odds. Knowing your miss and playing for it is free strokes.

04

Practice System

The meta-skill that controls how fast everything else develops. What am I working on? How will I know if it's improving? Without answers, you're hitting balls, not practicing.

05

Performance

Executing on the course what you trained on the range. Pressure narrows attention and pulls your mind into mechanics. A trained pre-shot routine, external focus, and pressure practice make skills hold up when it counts.

THE LOOP

Diagnose → Practice → Measure → Adjust

Build your Player Profile, aim 60% of practice at your weakest pillar, track every drill against handicap-calibrated benchmarks, and re-diagnose every four weeks. That's the whole system.
